09/05/2010 - Orlando, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Stump Mitchell won his coaching debut at Southern University as the Jaguars rallied past Delaware State, 37-27, Sunday afternoon in the sixth annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge at the Citrus Bowl.

Corey Cushingberry's 64-yard punt return for a touchdown gave Southern a 30-27 lead with 4:43 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Following an interception by Jason House, Rashaun Allen scored on a 4-yard pass from Dray Joseph for the Jaguars' third straight touchdown of the quarter, which erased a 27-16 deficit.

Southern's win cut the SWAC's deficit in the series to 4-2.

The 50-year-old Mitchell spent 21 seasons as a player and assistant coach in the NFL.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
